Surviving all alone
I have been left all alone this last week. I have not visited Salcey Forest once. Instead I have been abandoned to a house with just the other dogs and the man who lives here. Joanna has been gone!
She has returned today, I have chewed her fingers and skirt in greeting. She tells me I have grown - well what do you expect I thought!
Apparently she has been on a mindfulness training course. She says this is about being present and stuff. I was a bit confused when she tried to explain. So she read me a poem.
If you can
If you can sit quietly after difficult news;
If in financial downturns you remain perfectly calm;
If you can see your neighbors travel to fantastic places without a twinge of jealousy;
If you can happily eat whatever is put on your plate;
If you can fall asleep after a day of running around without a drink or a pill;
If you can always find contentment just where you are:
You are probably a dog.
Sounds good to me. Everyone should be a dog.
Woof woof for now.
