Kindling Kids
Sessions aimed at 7-11 year olds
Saturdays
in Chalkney Woods, Highwoods, and Wivenhoe woods.
£6 per child
Starting Saturday 21st April at 10am in High Woods, Colchester
Join us for a Saturday morning exploring the woodlands - something to fill you and your children with awe, wonder, enthusiasm and excitement!
Aimed at children aged 7-11 years. We meet in all weathers, so please come prepared.
The session is split into a child-led element that aims to develop self esteem and self confidence by spending time in the natural environment. This is based on the ethos of Forest Schools.
The other part of the session will focus on an aspect of ecology, natural history, or bushcraft which we will explore using guided activities, games and crafts. Children can choose what they want to find out about and will get a chance to know more about the Forest.
Activities include nature exploration, den building, natural crafts, using tools, minibeast hunting, fire lighting, cooking and more.
Led by fully qualified and experienced Forest School leaders, we aim to provide a positive environment with lots of encouragement, where children can take responsibility for their decisions; promoting inclusivity, creativity, self-belief and kindness.
